Line and ShapeI selected this photo because I like the perspective and point of view of the way this photo was taken. It wasn't straight on, it was off to the side and shows a new, up close angle of something so simple and overlooked. Compositionally, there are lines and shapes in the letters and the use of the rule of thirds because the sign is off to the left side. Also there is positive and negative space shown by the sign and words being the positive and the sky the negative. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/125 sec (shutter speed) and f/7.1 (aperture/depth of field) and the ISO on 100.

Pattern and TextureLooking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is the texture because the water droplets are so flat on the window, yet they pop out to the eye in the picture. There is also contrast seen in the different shades of grey. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the levels and the contrast. The camera was set to 1/280 sec (shutter speed), an aperture of f/2.2 and an ISO of 32. This picture was taken on my phone camera. This photo communicates/reminds me of/ makes me think of the month of April, because of the saying "April showers bring May flowers."

Motion/ PanningThis photo was taken for the motion/ panning assignment. What I like about this photo is how the background is blurred and warm and Seth is in focus so clearly. My point of view was on the side of the scooter The photo follows the rule of thirds because Seth is off to the right third of the picture. The depth of field is f/18. The ISO was set to 100 and the White Balance was daylight/sunny.

PortraitI selected this photo because the lighting emphasizes Lauren's beauty. Compositionally, there is contrast because of the difference between the shades of grey. Also there are artistic qualities that portray the serious mood shown by huge lighting differences and a serious face. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/160 sec (shutter speed) and f/ 1.8 (aperture/depth of field).

Landscape/ SeascapeLooking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is leading lines that stem out from the trees. There is also texture shown in all the branches stemming out in all different directions, and also in the lights. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the levels and contrast. The camera was set to f/2.2 (aperture) and a shutter speed of 1/25 sec. This photo makes me think of a beautiful winter night in the city.

Double ExposureThis photo was edited for the double exposure assignment. What I like about this photo is the emphasis on Lauren's eye. My point of view was straight ahead when I took the picture, but when I edited it, I rotated Lauren's portrait. The photo follows the rule of thirds because Lauren is off to the right of the photo. The depth of field is close up. The ISO was set to 100 and the White Balance was fluorescent.

Removing Unwanted Items/ MotionI selected this photo because I liked the way I removed all of the unappealing items in the background, and I also liked how Matt was in the bubble. Compositionally, there is rhythm because of the way the bubble flows. Also there is distance shown by Abby in focus and Matt also being a focal point. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/80 sec (shutter speed) and f/14 (aperture/depth of field).
